Hillsmere Shores Homes For Sale

Hillsmere Community Information

The first feeling you get when entering this community is …Welcome!  Hillsmere Shores is situated on the South River and Duval Creek and bordered by nationally recognized Quiet Waters Park. The community was once a large farm owned by a wealthy Philadelphia physician, the 30 room mansion that once was part of that farm now houses part of  Key school, a private school with classes for K-12 was started in the 1960′s and still growing and going strong.

According to the 2000 census there are 1,107 households with 31% reporting children living in the home under the age of 18.  I would have thought that number higher because of all the fantastic community amenities this community offers.  There is a huge, private, waterfront beach with playground on the shores of the South River.  There is a large community swimming pool on Harbor Drive and a marina with quick access to the Chesapeake Bay.  What’s not to love about Hillsmere?  Quiet Waters Park is within walking distance of most residents and offers; walking and biking trails, ice rink, pavilions for public use, summer camps, a playground area and areas to rent canoes and kayaks on Harness Creek.  This community has it all. There is a large variety of Hillsmere Shores homes for sale. Read why John Day is the best real estate agent you could choose to sell your home.

The street names like, Bay view Drive, Harbor Drive, Maple, Oak and Spruce describe the community appeal. Many of the homes for sale in Hillsmere are shadowed by the trees. Areas of the community are picturesque with tree lined streets and manicured yards, some home sites have great views of the Chesapeake Bay. You can bike through all the twists, turns and roads in this community and Quiet Waters Park and never need to go elsewhere.  Some people decide to buy homes in Hillsmere Shores because they have their own elementary school in the community.  The think I do find frustrating is the drive down Forest Drive/665 to the community.  During rush hour it can get a bit busy.

You will find that homes for sale in Hillsmere  are  affordable compared to other parts of the Annapolis Area.  The average sales price in 2009 was $534,880
