River Oaks Community Information
River Oaks is a rather pristine development that is situated just off Solomons Island Road (Rt. 2) in Edgewater, MD. The Homeowner’s Association requires covenants and restrictions so that the appearance of this community remains consistantly neat and well kept throughout. The association fee is between $90 and $100 per month. It’s just minutes to Rt. 50, maybe 15 min. from Annapolis Mall and 20 min. from downtown Annapolis.
Homes for sale in River Oaks are all TownHomes. The community backs up to portions of South River Colony on the rear side and Mayo Road to the front. There are 3 level Townhomes with basements, some have garages as well. The Townhomes are nicely appointed and although modest in size, the space is apportioned well. The community is improved with; Walking areas, small play area, Tennis Court(s), Community Clubhouse, Swimming Pool and common area for residents to enjoy.
I find the prices are very competitive compared to the higher priced similar homes that may be found just a few miles north of the South River Bridge in Annapolis. There is plenty of shopping nearby with a new center just blocks away. The center houses anchors such as Giant Food, Panarea Bread, Chilpote Grill and other stores needed to help support the growing community of Edgewater.
What I don’t like about parts of the community are the very narrow streets with 3 level homes on each side. It’s a little claustrophobic for me. The homes are newer and most built by Winchester homes in the year 2000-2001.
